Discover Rosehip Oil's missing vitamin C link and power up your skin results27 May 2020
Apart from Simplicité, there is no skin care brand whose Rosehip Oil products also feature Rosehip's own natural vitamin C.
(Without this missing link Rosehip Oil won't improve your skin as much as it should.)
There is a common misconception that Rosehip Oil contains vitamin C as the fruit itself does, but vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin so it is not contained in the oil.
Rosehips are essentially the fruit of the Rose plant. Rosehips are very high in natural Vitamin C.
However, it’s not oil from the seed that contains Vitamin C - it’s the husk of the Rosehip, its outer shell.
Simplicité Rosehip and Lavender Complexion Refiner Mask is rich in Rosehip Oil plus fresh extract of Rosehip Husk
Why Rosehip Oil is not as effective on its own
Rosehip Oil is rich in trans-retinoic acids that work to change the look of ageing caused by the sun.
It’s also rich in linoleic fatty acid that reduces redness, acne scars and age spots plus strengthens skin tone.
But the above are just HALF of the benefits that extract of Rosehip can offer. As well as the oil, our skin also needs the water-soluble extracts from the outer husk of Rosehip - containing antioxidant flavonoids and natural vitamin C.
As always, the closer we can use a plant to its natural and whole state, the more of its benefits we can harness.
Missing link - our unique vitamin C rich Rosehip Oil
At Simplicité, we find it incredible that this outer husk is usually thrown away after oil extraction
No one else seems to know, or care, that discarding these Rosehip husks means that our skin misses out on a very rich source of natural vitamin C.
Rosehip's natural vitamin c and antioxidant flavonoids
The outer part of the Rosehip seed is considered to be one of the top three known sources of natural Vitamin C and antioxidant flavonoids.
It's this vitamin C and its accompanying antioxidant flavonoids that helps skin to stay young and vibrant.
Simplicité founder, naturopath and herbalist David Lyons says, "Contrary to common belief, there is no vitamin C in Rosehip Oil - this is actually found in the fresh extract we make from the Rosehip's outside husk.

Benefits for surface capillaries
Another benefit: the water soluble natural vitamin C extracts help reduce the appearance of visible surface capillaries.
Only the water soluble extract from the outer part of the Rosehip seed has been shown to have these 'vasoprotective' (vessel strengthening) properties.
More enhanced Rosehip Oil value for skin
Simplicité also multiplies Rosehip Oil's value for skin by using itp with several complementary and high quality plant extracts.
That's because no single plant extract (including Rosehip Oil) can improve skin adequately.
When Rosehip Oil is used with a synergistic mixture of complementary plant extracts, these combinations provide the greatest possible benefits for skin.
Combinations of herbs and plants give the best results every time, whether for a favourite food recipe or the formulation of skin care products.
Top Rosehip performers in Simplicité products
